A Conferência Crossroads in Cultural Studies 2026 e o VI Congresso da Rede Internacional em Estudos Culturais (RIEC) acontecerão em Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasil, de 27 a 31 de julho de 2026.

A organização é do Programa de Pós-graduação Interdisciplinar em Estudos do Lazer (PPGIEL/UFMG), com apoio da Rede Internacional em Estudos Culturais (RIEC), reunindo pesquisadoras e pesquisadores de diferentes países e fortalecendo o caráter internacional e colaborativo do evento.

A edição de 2026 marca a primeira realização do Crossroads na América Latina, com o tema: “Decolonizando os Estudos Culturais: Lazer, Corpos, Performances, Territórios e Universidades”.

The Crossroads in Cultural Studies 2026 Conference and the 6th Congress of the International Network in Cultural Studies (RIEC) will take place in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, from July 27 to 31, 2026.

The event is organized by the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Leisure Studies (PPGIEL/UFMG), with the support of the International Network in Cultural Studies (RIEC), which brings together universities from Portuguese-speaking countries and reinforces the international and collaborative character of the conference.

The 2026 edition marks a historic moment, as Crossroads will be held for the first time in Latin America, under the theme: “Decolonizing Cultural Studies: Leisure, Bodies, Performances, Territories, and Universities.”
